Anyone planning to travel to and from the city of Chicago, IL on November 29th should anticipate travel disruption at O’hare International Airport due to a strike on the day by airport workers.  Approximately 500 airport staff will strike over increased salary demands.  Airport officials have said that normal operations will continue, however, travelers should expect disruption as the action coincides with the end of Thanksgiving holiday, one of the busiest travel periods of the year at the airport.

Advice:

  • Allow additional time for travel and arrive at the airport early.
  • Residual delays should be expected even after strike ends.
  • Reconfirm schedules with airline.

Enjoy your holidays!
