Kansas City Barbecue

One of my favorite things to do in a new city is eat!  I recently visited Kansas City, Missouri for the first time and I was told that Jack Stack BBQ was the place to go.  I was a little leery when I heard “upscale BBQ”, especially being from Texas, how can BBQ be delicious and upscale?  After checking into our hotel, we decided to go and try some “upscale BBQ” and I was pleasantly surprised.  It wasn’t as good as the BBQ in Texas or Tennessee but it was delicious.  I think I liked the sides even better than the BBQ, especially the cheesy corn bake.  I also enjoyed the atmosphere, it was a cold rainy day and we dined near a huge fire place.  I felt like I was in a swanky log cabin.

I ordered the chopped burnt ends on a bun, beans and the cheesy corn bake.  I couldn’t put the cheesy corn bake down, that was the first thing I finished.  I did have to ask for more BBQ sauce but other than that I would definitely recommend Jack Stack BBQ.
