A Day in DC DC is one of my favorite cities in the United States and i’ll never get tired of it. I started my day at the Smithsonian – National Museum of African American History and Culture and ended at Smithsonian Castle. I can’t really put into words how amazing these museums are so i’ll just show you. Fun Facts: George Washington never lived in DC. The White House was completed a year after he died. The DC War Memorial, which honors local residents of Washington, DC is the only memorial dedicated to World War I on the National Mall When the Washington Monument opened in 1884 it was the tallest structure in the world until the Eiffel Tower in Paris took the title in 1889. There are about 1,800 animals from 300 different spices at the Smithsonian National Zoo The Smithsonian Institution Museums boast a collection that includes nearly 138 million objects, works of art and specimens.
